 IQ of small children

A 1st grade school teacher had twenty-six students in her class.  She presented each child in her classroom the 1st half of a well-known proverb and asked them to come up with the remainder of the proverb.  It's hard to believe these were actually done by first graders. Their insight may surprise you. While reading, keep in mind that these are first-graders, 6-year-olds, because the last one is a classic!

The Quilt

My granny makes quilts for all of her grandchildren when they graduate from high school. I can't believe I haven't thought about taking pictures and showing off this beautiful quilt she made for me almost 9 years ago.

Instead of having a pattern to it, she decided use bonnets and portray the different aspects of my life. There is the church, which is the center of my world, and my heart. Throughout the whole quilt, there is a scene representing when I raised a pig and a heifer, my first car, cooking, taking care of kids, reading, graduating... it is amazing at how accurate she got in all of the things that are important to me. This is something that I will always treasure and will soon put up and not use as much in order to save it so that my children will be able to see it.

One other important part of this quilt: My grandfather "Bappaw", helped her quilt this. My Aunt Laura, one of my favorite aunts, also helped to quilt. As I continue to step through the different stages of life, I love to sit and wrap this quilt around me, and think about all of the wonderful memories that are woven into it.

I was, and still am, in awe in how much love, sweat, and time went into this project..and she did it all to see me smile! I am truly blessed.

"Be very careful if you make a woman cry, because God counts her tears. The woman came out of a man's rib. Not from his feet to be walked on .. Not from his head to be superior ... but from the side to be equal! Under the arm to be protected, & next to the heart to be loved." I got this from a friend's facebook status. I love this!!!

My brother and sister in law have four dogs. Charlie has enjoyed hanging out with them.

The pups!

Ultra, sleeping on Charlie's bed.

Mia--- she is a special dog.

Jaeda- the princess of the family

And sweet, sweet honey bear.
All the pups, and the cat, have had a great time. A day and a half left!
